REUPLOAD HAD TO FIX SCORE CARD: Without a doubt I am getting used to Iris is this the new patchouli. An ingredient I turned from. Sampling people would offer I would shake my head from east to west. Reviewers on the Tube would start in I would click next. A hint in the mall and turning opposite I would go. If you your going to get into this I aptly told myself there is a reason this is constantly used and I need to search and seek out that reason. Here is my beginning into iris. Francesca is not responsible for starting only allowing me to take another higher step and get closer to how special this ingredient is. There is a huge reference to animalic notes in perfume, this is the one wear you are okay to note really listen to those notes. There are barely present and is stated in perfume marketing perfectly. It’s totally the tames wild beast by the vixen in the form of powders. Yes I like powder now and it’s because of people like Francesca pushing the envelope this direction. It is one of the best complimenters to strong dark mean scents. Why did we take so long to get here. Because designers dropped the ball in the form of IFRA and we had to wait for a band of I am going to move this thing forward anyway with all abandoned and see what I can do people. Francesca is one of those people. I easily see past marketing, but it is so dangerous to be so provactive when it’s unfair a lot of people will be turned away before even smelling. If you can get past the names and seduction the juice is absolutely divine. Sorry marketing hat on for a bit. Hard to get away from. Fragrance in my opinion compared to Perfumes Notes Off of the top I get the leather and balsams with the pepper. I would swear there is a huge saffron note, but this I am guessing is the ambergris. Grapefruit and lavender are never there own for me, but add to a seductive vibe that is clearly meant by the title of this fragrance. Coming into the heart the full sniff becomes like a condensed version of Baccarat Rouge extrait version accord which itself is already condensed. Smells like the airy izonic narcotic accord on steroids. I pick up real ambergris and oris butter without looking at the notes and it is lovely against a tad shaded leather of masculine sorts. Make no mistake this is a powder bomb. With the airy ozonic thing going on this stabilizes into something I personally don’t mind. Starting to see this accord being used very heavily which is a little disturbing. Yes it is the most mass crowd pleasing realm of synthetic, but it reminds me of hotel stays galore. I travel for business and am fortunate to stay at some of the best hotels around. Drydown is straight up vanilla santal and powder, freaking sweet and good like the fluffiest flakiest and moist croissant ever. Notes I never got tree moss animalics. I think I am loving oris butter so much because of it’s incredible ability to stay even more beautiful with rich animalic synthetics behind it.

  1. I never would have guessed there was iris in this if you hadn’t pointed it out. I get all dark brown colors: ambergris, musk, spices, leather, castoreum. But I resampled with orris butter in mind, and as it settles, it does get a bit floral powdery, not like other iris scents, still animalic and musky. Cozy intimate beautiful (slightly more) masculine scent.

    1. AMY thanks for this great comment. So getting more familiar with the note it is one of the most beautiful ingredients to use against darker notes, it just accentuates and adds extra layers of depth that really show up in the sillage I have noticed. Do you remember what the end of this fragrance was on your skin? A lot of the darker notes left for me.

    2. Therapeutic Fragrance Still musk, ambergris, balsamic, but in an airier way, and sweeter with a little bit of lavender, some sandalwood. More soft and powdered in texture, not smell.

  2. 4 sprays? U wanna choke somebody?? Not smart to wanna turn an intimate scent into a loud scent.
Ps I own 'Under My Skin' and 2 sprays r just perfect (2 sprays in the morning and 1 in the evening when I go out, more is not needed). I also own 'Etruscan Water' and 'SS Neroli'.

    1. I am probably really going to set you off when I tell you my last wearing was seven! I did do five of Etruscan Water and The Lover's Tale. That was an embarrassing day. I was a walking cloud of perfume. I don't get the huge projection off of Under My Skin like I do the other Francesca's. I think the powder in it helps also.
