This is what I am talking about this is floating like a butterfly and just circling around you. Some of the purest vanilla ever. The patchouli is so nice I bet most people wouldn’t even pull out patchouli if they only wear designer fragrances that’s how different natural patchouli is. The sillage on this is springtime aphrodisiac. It is a gourmand. It is very hard to explain the overall scent and effect on this one. I have had this bottle for awhile and I can’t put into words the combination of ingredients doing on my skin is doing. Hyde was the same way. These are not for everyone, but people into naturals I would call these straight up perfumes. They are composed with care and power. To get naturals to blend project and last you need to add power and I don’t mind one bit. Unless you are going to go heavy with oakmoss or tons of resins, usually vanilla is your next friend or citrus musk. Here the Vanilla is used as an encompassing note to me rather than just a base. What I mean by that is you smell it as the usual base that if you been into perfumery many times you have smelled before, but somehow this is mixed on top also. Kind like the effect of Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream with the vanilla bean inside you get a very airy ice cream vanilla and also a deep vanilla aroma from the bean very good use and trick here. But the middle of this one is a beautiful patchouli, I mean beautiful. This is the best patchouli I have smelled in a perfume to this date. This is a reason I have grown to love this note, it’s the kind of thing that if not listed I don’t think many people would come up with the note. Myself included as I am just getting the differences in this. Vetiver and all the differences of it are the same for me also. Fragrance in my opinion compared to Perfumes Notes This is where I like blending when you can pull out notes not from initial spray, but you have to where a few times just to get nuances and understand what the perfumer was doing. The top is one kind of vanilla aroma, the heart goes deeper into vanilla and the base changes straight into the bean I’m sure tonka is helping with this richness at this point. Arbole Arbole could be a lesson in the note of vanilla and it is. It’s how careful it is used to serenade this earthy rough edged patchouli and hide all rough edges and show off a beautiful earthiness enhancing the vanilic profile even more. A buttery powder cone for the vanilla comes to provide stability in the form of pure sandalwood and all of its greatness. Cedar provides the last topping on this ice cream cone of wonder on your skin. This is one of the most creative Gourmands I have smelled this is a MUST sample. This is a hidden gem that if your not into gourmands you at least have to smell the composition if you are into perfumery to enhance your imagination and masterfully using ingredients this is some Top Chef stuff going on. Kudos to you Hiram Green Keep it up.

  1. Haha! I'm glad to see another review from you. I'm watching now. My FOTN is Ford Mustang Performance EdT. A Cardamom, Vanilla and Sandalwood bomb! One of my favorites. 😀

  2. Sampling Lost Cherry. The dark cherry pie filling smell and Tonka is nice but nothing special. Low projection. The Tom Ford SAs were incredibly snooty about me sampling it, so instead I purchased a sample from The Perfumed Court ????

Have tried Dilettante and Slowdive. Both lovely and nice, but too simple for my tastes.

    1. Funny I tried with my Tom Ford counter also. They said since they didn't have the fragrance they wouldn't pull out the sample, this was a couple of months ago. Sounds like all the same I have heard about it. FYI I want more bottles than I ever have before after today.

  3. I got a package of samples in the mail this evening so Ive got 4 things on various places (Ensar Iris Ghalia, No 1, No 2, Oud Luwak) just burning my nose out and not even giving them proper due lol. Ah well they’re all powerful so the samples should give me a handful more wearings to do them justice.

I’ve only tried Hyde from this brand and while I disagreed with it I’m excited to smell more from them. I think I have a few in my cart right now actually.

Looking forward to hear your thoughts on the Heeleys your sampling (if your planning reviews of them that is). Lots of misses I think with that brand but the ones I do love are real loves.

    1. How is the Iris Ghalia so hesitant to pull trigger on Iris. Note de Yuzu is filmed should be up by next week. The others have some essence of Hyde, this is the only one that does not have that resinous base in it.

    2. Therapeutic Fragrance gave iris ghalia some more time this evening. Great experience, great transitions and it’s a privilege to smell real blue lotus and iris. I love animalic florals especially when they are exempt of jasmine. But at that price per ml I think it’s for true enthusiasts/collectors only. Which is who it was made for but I’m not there just yet.

  4. I have 2 bottles of it 🙂 A big one and the travel size. I have reviewed the sample and got both bottles as a present after my raving review. LOL! It's beautiful and wonderfully blended. One of my favorites. 🙂 Great review!

  5. I love this house but my advice is that if you are in the U.S. don't order from the Hiram Green website. Buy from Luckyscent. Hiram Green uses DHL, the worst shipper on the planet, to ship international packages. I ordered two bottles of perfume that DHL has lost — not the first bad experience I have had with DHL — and Hiram Green has asked me to patiently wait. I have already been waiting two weeks.

  6. Z06 I have gone through quite the problems with DHL. Early on I made my concerns clearly known to my DHL hub in Portland. No Oud is not Marijuana oil quit it. It was a lot meaner than that. It's no fair I pay for 2 day shipping and then have to wait over 2 weeks in customs knowing that if they open any oil with their dusting it can easily be contaminated. I am friends with my driver and it has made all the difference. With a lot of vendors DHL is the only option besides the huge risk of post mail. I feel you bro.

  7. @Therapeutic Fragrance Also, on many of your videos you ask what your viewers are wearing today. I don't think i have ever answered that…but I will today: Habit Rouge Eau de Parfum from Guerlain. I really love this juice. A very classy and interesting fragrance from Guerlain.

    1. Heads up Allen in the past two years Hiram has done a black friday sale on his site you have to buy two bottles, but it was the like the price of one with two and shipping included. That's how I got most of mine past two years. Cheers.

  8. I just took a chance on this house and got the sample set. First one I try is this one. Pow, love at first sniff. It's a patchouli alien holding a bouquet of roses. There's something else in there too I can't put my finger on, Hmmmm…..

  9. I do have to add though after spending some more time with this I don’t believe it is a natural fragrance. The dry down on a scent strip and the list of chemicals in the ingredients lead me to believe this. I do realize that these chemicals are of natural origin but can be produced by artificial means. Still it is a beautiful fragrance and I stand by that.
