This is a scent that was designed to work with an individual’s own skin chemistry from the outset. The citrus lasted very shortly off the top. I couldn’t pull out the ginger. Honestly if the top was longer lasting I would really enjoy this offering. Heavy oakmoss about ten minutes after and it hangs out over the base pretty heavy. Vetiver grows through, it is a very powerful thick Vetiver that is really really nice, the problem in this composition is the Vetiver and Oakmoss really take over the fragrance in my opinion. I was really hoping to have more of the mandarin in the musk accord. That is what really interested me about this scent. I am really getting into experimenting with bases as it seems they are few and far between. I get it it’s a dangerous thing when people have to live with the base the longest in a fragrance. That is what they will end up loving or just wanting to scrub off. Maybe the mandarin changes the oakmoss a bit it does smell a little different I would expect a little more citrus the way the notes are explained. The base and drydown were a bit too much of the same. Not a bad thing but in the golden age of creative perfumery that $3 an ML level has to be very selective. I would call this a vetiver musk.

Thank you for this review. A year and half late, but just now seeing this. I'm Sherri Sebastian, the founder and perfumer behind the brand. I worked as a professional perfumer in the industry for 25 years and with Maitri I really wanted to showcase and introduce people to a composition they would be unlikely to see on the market. Namely because of the super high amount of vetiver. For me, vetiver wears so well on skin. Even just this ingredient alone gives me the sensation of having a 'sexy skin veil' that makes me want to stand up straighter and become my best self. I appreciate your feedback about the mandarin and bergamot, and wanting them to last longer. Perhaps I could try a touch of mandarin aldehyde to accomplish this. In truth though, my intention was to have a quick fleeting burst on top and lead pretty quickly into the vetiver. The Oakmoss, for me serves as an anchor, but truly my overall goal was to showcase the organic, eco-certified vetiver from Madagascar, which wears much better, in my opinion, than other commercial grades.
