- Right upon opening, I never read anything ahhhh Deer Musk
- This is solely for me. If you watch my elixir attar video, it’s one of the best unplanned accidents I have done while being filmed.
- Usually I am even keeled and am not broken. I usually know if it’s going to be a passionate, high-scoring review, if it’s something I just have to get through, or if it will be a rant that’s been building up. Whatever mood I might be in, I open this stuff, and it instantly makes me smile. My brain gets switched, and I realize that everything is going to be OK.
- OK, for you people who are still not wearing oils or attars, this is cheap enough. It’s on etsy, which is accessible and a great place to start.
- Even if you want to dive into raw materials, he has you covered for very reasonable prices.
- So think of that crazy air you get from Baccarat Rouge 540—the air that you smell that’s addictive and crazy, not the other notes. That kind of air is created here with the ambergris. And there is also a crazy sweet note in this also.
Fragrance in my opinion compared to Perfume’s Notes
- Right away, you are going to get the base notes; they are going to interact with the entire wearing. That would be the musk and the ambergris I’m referring to. Both dosed in abundance. The costus adds a twang to the top of the attar. LOL, you do get a light cucumber with sunflower as light aromatics. Saffron shows quickly.
- The heart settles into a brown leather with soft woods. That crazy air just holds, and it’s something I don’t want to ever leave. It’s like a soak I do in the bath, but breathing it in.
- The base holds the musk and gold ambergris. You are left with that and a sweet layer of ambergris.
- This is about the ebbs and flows of attars. It is what getting to know your attar maker is all about. It’s about the care they take to blend these precious ingredients and present the attar for you to enjoy as a session.

He has some great products, his labdanum 2002 Crete along with 119 ledon zafora are amazing. Hopefully they are still on his website, and his really generous with some of the raw materials.
Thanks for commenting Guy. Oh man the labdanum sounds great. He has quite a bit up there. I had this video finished when I found out it was sold out and had to edit in me saying sold out in the video which most people won't find. I was kind of upset with myself for not having a quarter tola.
@Therapeutic Fragrance No problem. His the one that made me like labdanum. I haven't checked out his website in a while I should go see what he has now. Man the good stuff on his website gets purchased farely quickly. His New Zealand ambergris and saffron maceration is good also. Linear but good to understand notes.
I have 21 sample bottles of Mellifluence Perfume. almost all of them smell breathtakingly beautiful.
I don't understand why this house doesn't get the attention it deserves.
so far, my favorite is No.186 – Purple leather. very unique floral(iris) leather accord in this attar is mind-numbingly seductive.
Mellifluence Perfume is a must try house for an artisanal fragrance lover.
People just have a weird thing against attars. You are spot on this is one to try. I know why I have people show me there oils that have no clue they bought it from a common street vendor and it is terrible that is most people's association. I am trying to provide safe places for people to try. I feel the same way you do. His stuff is all well done, even the raw ingredients are some of the best I own and I own a ton of essential oils from people.

Stephen, this sold out faster than Abdullah could of imagined. I had no idea I am very fortunate to have it. I had no idea how rare the deer musk was in this. He is completely out of three main ingredients and they cannot be remade. I have some other attars on the way that I will put up on the channel that will be available.
Therapeutic Fragrance Can’t wait. In the mean time I have Tabacaurum, Sultan Leather, Thai Blue lotus and Sicilian Vanilla on the way. Lol
Love and respect Abdullah's work. He & Sultan Pasha taught me a lot – two perfumers that I bought the most as I hold everything in the market against their standards. He taught me making deer musk & saffron macerations & tinctures and few more things about compositions. There's a long article on deer musk in perfumery, where this attar is listed. In it Abdullah also shows deer musk maceration.
Really appreciate this comment Ashfaque. His work speaks for itself it truly stops me in my tracks. You can tell so much thought was put into it. Are there articles on the maceration techniques or did you visit him personally. I have some saffron I am playing with currently and would love to learn anything beyond tincturing.

At least you have the first, from what I understand they are very similar. It was his special aged materials used in both. I will be careful using what I have as this is a hidden treasure in the collection.

I took a risk with Mellifluenceperfume and Tsuga as my first intro into attars and went ahead and ordered his last 1 tola size. I am very pleased with his communication kindness and of course the Tsuga so speeding to the next one: Laith III. Great house to use for an intro into attars.

The term Sala (not sure how you spell that) interested me a lot too. I tend to know a blend is ready when it reaches that state of the scent being more prominent than the minds ramblings. When it stops you in your tracks like you said so well.

It was a pleasure yes you super good attar makers need to get named together. I think a problem of people not buying attars are all the bad ones and they give up and never go back. I am really trying with this channel to showcase the beauty of this concentration. It is so overlooked in western culture especially the states. What you have done here is amazing I have many guys wanting this one remade congrats on this. Hopefully we can get a modern formulation of it. I love what you said about a blend being ready it comes through in your finished creations.

@mimou badisi83 go on ouddict website and look for a guy called Rai Munir aka the musk man! He will tell you all you need to know! Generally about 30-40% of the total weight in carrier oils like sandalwood is a good start.
