How? I Apply the Fragrance
1 to 3
One of the first fragrances to use the synthetic hybrid Clearwood.
Bright opening hiding the patchouli very well. I really love this opening. The pink pepper is barely noticeable but everything is hidden in first five minutes and each ingredient slowly evolves to show itself.
Only five minutes in and the patchouli grows on your very skin after ever whiff you can feel it sprouting forth. Soft hidden leather with a citrus tree right next to you covering you from the sun.
How he hid this rose was mastery. Here it comes. A red rose right in the middle of the Patchouli plant. The jasmin sambac shows up to mix with the rose nicely not letting it dominate, but sharing the wearing very nicely.
The drydown really shows off the clearwood molecule and what it is. It’s definately a better note than what other house have used for there patchouli. Supposedly it is the 21st Century answer to Patchouli. Mixing man-made and nature using sugar cane (hMMMMMMMMM) Any ways this is all about smell on this review it is a softer less soapy Patchouli that should be pleasing answer to Patchouli’s heavy turn off of the hippy era. Rose is a great ingredient to pair with strong notes Oud? Anyone. Patchouli is strong and rose is a great deflector in the wearing. This smells like the red synthetic rose that you are very used to it is used lightly, but even slightly red rose is there throughout the rest of the wearing.
Fragrance in my opinion compared to Perfumes Notes
I can definitely see what they were intending with the new molecule it is way softer than the other patchouli synthetic I got to know all to well. Rose and Jasmine came through perfectly. It did have a top heart and base. Pink pepper and sandalwood were very faint for me.

Interesting metaphor for the molecules (natural vs. synthetic)!
Supposedly this is the first of it's kind mixing both worlds it how it was advertised, it was an interesting read. Clearwood is definitely is a step forward for synthetic Patchouli.
I just tried Holy Wood and got a sample at Twisted Lily out here in Brooklyn. I love the Rose and suede notes and just waiting to see how it performs on my skin and its longevity.
As far as the Patchouli note used, I am in favor of the clearwood that is in there over other synthetic patchouli's. Definitely a step forward for the note in my opinion.
