SImplicity is genius it’s been before us forever. Here two ingredients get promptly featured and two of my favorites. I love contrast I look for it. Here we have strong dark earthy, strong, darky, very floral.. Fragrance in my opinion compared to Perfumes Notes You get tobacco and rose from the beginning. Tobacco is not even listed it might not even be there it might all be in my head, but it smells like an alluring dark and vibrant invitation laced in goodness. Trying for the fourth time the rose is flat out drunk on this opening. Now that I know notes and smelling again with notes its just a good oakmoss and balsam I mistaked for tobacco power of suggestion. See putting my fumbles in here, or might be from the cigar I had before the scent to accent it. J/K I don’t do any wearing and writing after smoking. Wait until the business is done to enjoy the smoke. This has only one small transition on my skin. Whatever I was trying to force on as tobacco slides away quickly. The rest of the wearing is a slightly jammy rose close to smolder rose (this was first) and there is a red varietal and different that adds a worthy wearing of rose that is special and unique to the world. Well thought out. The name adds enough intrigue to twist what isn't there. The ambergris note is soft and the beeswax coats everything in a resinous honey like smell. Overall a well composed fragrance that is brings rose to another setting on our skin.

  1. I own and immensely enjoy Salome, Anubis, and Dryad from this house. I so wanted to like this one enough to pull the trigger on a full bottle, but after sampling it three times I decided to pass and move on. On my skin it just doesn't perform. And performance is a set in stone requirement for me. If I have to walk around sniffing my arm to know I am even wearing perfume…no thank you. After about an hour it is a skin scent on me, and it completely falls apart after about 3 or 4 four hours. I just can't bring myself to drop $190 for 50ml on a poor performing fragrance, despite my liking the composition and smell.

    1. @Therapeutic Fragrance Nothing ventured nothing gained. At this price point I always sample first. Perfume usually plays nice on my skin and I get good mileage out perfumes that most people report good longevity and moderate sillage. But there is always the outlier here and there. I know another reviewer who said he got poor performance out of a fragrance that is an absolute beast on my skin — to the point where I can still smell it the next day. Go figure. Lol.
