Fragrance Overview
One of the first bottles from the house. Very different from everything else except for the Slumberaide. This is what a modern Viking would be wearing. The guy that still slays and labors during the day, but has a fancy place to come home to and shower up. It’s both versions of that guy in this juice.Fragrance Review
You are going to get the aroma of forest from spraying this. Every time I wear it, I want to tell myself to smell pine, but it is not pine that I ever get. It’s super rich moss and oakmoss with fern and different forest aromas. The notes call it fog-cake needle, and it is a smell I get in the woods, but, again, no pine. There is a smokiness in the background. No notes refer to this, but I pick it up. Again, this is one of the darkest, deepest oakmosses I have in a bottle. This is an oakmoss bomb. Yeah, it got the bomb title. The hemlock in here is the surprise ingredient, and against that in-your-face fresh, strong, unique slumberhouse DNA is a twist in just the right direction of some funk. Pissy, dark green funk. Very pungent green—just look at the juice. The smell is in the color. What comes out of the bottle is not what you’re left with at all. Halfway through the wearing, about four hours in for me, there is a yin and yang transition. This thing dies down to an incense for the next three to five hours and becomes just that, leaving almost every trace of the former notes. A magic trick. Overall, this is a fresh breath in the winter forest, providing that air on you throughout whatever you find yourself doing in the day. Includes the punk DNA that Slumberhouse is built upon. Nice tree
LOL, nobody has mentioned I totally put the wrong bottle of perfume up in the video. Trying to do to much already this year.
@Therapeutic Fragrance haha
We've had a woeful lack of snow where I live last few years.
Snow is super rare. this video got away from me. I am going to use my first snow footage for my Aksum video. Both of these reviews were written last year during the same week. To much sampling last year.
@Therapeutic Fragrance samples can turn in to a rabbit hole, just as full bottles can. I've got samples from years ago that I still haven't used. Bought a phaedon discovery set (had about 20 fragrances in (their lighter scents)) and I've barely used them. It's hard to keep track of. Proper nightmare
Exactly. I should video my drawers of samples I know have two completely full.
Juice representing the duality of man? I'm interested
@Therapeutic Fragrance any recommendations for a pine scent
serge's fille en guilles
@Therapeutic Fragrance have I asked this before? I think I have, de ja vu lol
LOL, I don't remember if you did, that is my go to answer for a decent composed pine though.
@Therapeutic Fragrance do you think grev is minty and piney? Or.. what notes do you get the most of now that you've had it for so long. I watched your grev video fyi I just wonder what notes you really see pop out at you most. Like I'm afraid of smelling like tiger balm ????
That condensed oakmoss sounds intriguiing… Love your descriptions Brandon. Totally see what you mean about that incense drydown. Pricey indeed.
He achieved a nice affect on the oak moss.
What`s up with the green light saber on the screen?
Finally someone give me some light saber love. I am playing with my lighting like crazy. I can't get my dome light to quit blowing out surrounding mood lighting. I am just using it for mood lighting and change colors to the fragrances I review.
Wow thorough review. I can imagine the smell now.
Therapeutic Fragrance Didn’t mention only bc you already noticed it and mentioned it yourself in another comment. ????
Yes, oakmoss I have liked in Etruscan Water and DSH Lautrec and 4160 Tuesdays Burnt Cedar Rainbow Doves. I’m sure there are more scents with oakmoss I like, too. My replaced phone screen makes typing hard. It glitches, so I can’t write too much. But I will say lichen is pronounced LIKE-inn, with emphasis on the first part and a hard K. ❤️
There it is. Thanks for that I seriously enjoy that about you. Tons of information to give all of us. Maybe it's just the synthetic oakmoss that you like. I know Etruscan and 4160 use synthetic. Not sure about Dawn's. How were the Rogue's? Those are definitely heavy.
Therapeutic Fragrance I can’t help myself ????
Oh, the Rogues…I do think I have one with oakmoss. I will get back to you on that.
I loved the floral one-Lumiere. Need to test the “green” one still
Wish I would of bough Lumiere instead of Fougere L’aube.
I bought a partial from the 2019 batch , good stuff.
in the hunted forest genre this one and prissana's haxan are the best I've sampled , too bad haxan is sold out and I only have 2 samples of it
The last time I went to order Prissana stuff it was very difficult I had an order placed and had two questions (mind you it was 1,000 order) and through about three emails also from different accounts.(I didn't let them know I was a reviewer) they never answered. I got gun shy because of it. He really needs to get all that figured out. My guess is he has different partners in each of the lines and it needs to get uncomplicated which he is trying to bring everything under one line is my understanding. And it's exactly what I would do as a business move. Anyways it's still not done and I think they were aiming for last November. Hopefully something similar to Haxan is released.
Therapeutic Fragrance my experience with strangers and prissana was positive but I have heard of other people who had an experience similar to yours, Get a sample of Haxan if you can , even just for educational purposes. Waiting for your tigerlust unboxing and first impressions
I can't wait to unbox Tigerlust. I hope it's like my experiences with EO1 and E02. To much not to be floored by it. If I bought American Oud at that price would be disappointed good fragrance, but rather by others or real oud at that amount.
This one, Sibet and Kiste are my top 3 of this marvelous house!
If you like those three there is one more you must have, SOVA. The Slumberhouse overseas distributor had some in stock last week, because nobody knows about it. Slumberhouse sold out on his site in one night from one deleted Instagram post. Just letting a fellow fan know.
I'm afraid the note of hops in sova is prominent. I don't like beer, man
The hops note is the fresh hops before fermentation. It doesn't smell of beer at all in the fragrance, don't think I would like that either. The hops and hay work very well together.
Great setup, you are a natural, love your style, You have an ultra limited Hand Hendley in the back there, right? WHat do you think about Hendley's FUME? Cheers, keep up the great work!
Bloodline in the only ultra limited I have any of. Only 2Ml of it. Fume is a great fragrance. All of Hans' stuff is really easy to wear and a light air base accord attached to everything I have had from him. Night and day from Slumberhouse.
FYI-4 stars from You-Know-Who(the only one Slumberhouse reviewed)
I didn't know that either. I thought he would hate the stuff. Glad to hear it
How would you compare this to cape heartache from IA?
No comparison. This is more realistic in every way. I do like the IA strawberry twist, but other than that this is far and above for me as a forest scent.
