Fragrance Quick Story

Edit: He is remaking them, so I’m putting this review out there.

OK, in my opinion, some things in this collection should be sacred, to be purchased and treasured when they are available, knowing that they might not be available forever.  I do hope this gets remade, however, so others can enjoy it. So far, everything that had donned the word “Russian” was above and beyond. I mean Masterpieces. Peruse my channel: I am very careful with that word, but when I use it, I will do it loudly.  That being said, everything “Russian” should notate that this is one-of-a-kind, just get what you can.  Hopefully there will be 10ml options to share the love. OK, moving on.

I am lucky to own this in the attar form.  I found Russian Adam about a week after the perfume sold out. It wasn’t until a year after that the attar version was released, and I jumped on it.

Some parts of Oud Luwak are comparable to Russian Oud, but I don’t own the perfume, only the attar, so I can only speak based on my experience with the attar. We can call this the refined Oud Luwak.  It doesn’t have that cinnamon thing that drove me nuts in Oud Luwak.

Alright, this thing is a beauty.  How do I own the perfume? is the thought I have to beat out of my head.  I’ve now got Oud Luwak up for trade.

Russian Oud is a beauty through and through.  There is just softness, loudness, refinement, grunginess all at the same time.  This attar can be a lot of things all at once. This is James Bond in a bottle. Ready to fire and take down any enemy, step in and play his opponent with his mind, or steal the show at the evening event with his tux.

Chocolate love at its best.

Trying to hold back, but 90 minutes in, this is just one of those fragrances that changes the day.  This is why I wear perfume; to have experiences like this. Experiences comparable to nothing else without this luxurious smell I have never had before.

Fragrance in my opinion compared to Perfume’s Notes

Dark chocolate fans rejoice; it comes out singing.  A true cacao note in the composition that comes off like Ecuadorian dark chocolate with fruity top notes.  I’m talking about the fruity notes you smell from dark chocolate, if you’re into that.

Oud is drenched in this, from top to bottom, and it’s well deserving of the name.  Hint Hint, designers. It’s an incense composition that is very royal. Notice my high scores; can’t help but call them royal.

This is the most regal kind of “dirty” there is.  You feel like you were out in the thick of it, but then you still need to host a fancy dinner in the middle of a sixteen-hour day.  Think Aragon from Lord of the Rings—that type of man.

Below everything, there is an oriental flair in the form of a smoky musk, authentic deer musk, and the birch tar and castoreum pulls up a thick brilliant leather.  The castoreum floats and moves with the oud. The oud does have the pungent flair everyone talks about, an advanced oud-lover’s oud. It has all the funk, but the funk enhances those rich base notes.  It adds a ton of character to the leather while this rich chocolate provides an aromatic touch on top. The cedar and santal come off smoky, and the labdanum raises all of it up in an incense bubble with myrrh around you.  Everyone you come in touch with that day will surely be fortunate.

This projects three feet or more, easily.  This can last twenty four hours, but it’s about twelve for me.  Even though Russian Adam preaches against layering, I must counter to him that he needs to try layering this with Russian Musk.  I put on the Russian Oud attar traditionally and then spray the Russian Musk pure parfum over it. There is nothing like it that I have experienced.  Anyone have the perfume of Russian Oud? I will bring the attar, and we can try Russian Oud together.

If a designer were to use the same formulation, this would easily be ten times the price for them to keep their margins, and probably a lot more.

Overall, this is what you call luxury perfume made for royalty, drenching you in rich chocolate notes coated in real oud on top of leather that will come off of an incense for those around you.
