This is the opening that only the likes of Carson, Leno, and Letterman could bring. I’ve stated many times last year that yuzu is my favorite citrus to stand on its own in the opening. It’s not too showy but polished and refined and telling of what’s to come. This is one of the most glorious openings I have experienced. Rose blooms into the transition with the cherry blossoms in full bloom, like a walk around D.C. in April. This is an example of a collaboration being done exactly right.
This perfume is an exquisite take, proving that there is much more to be explored in the olfactive world. The opening is a sublime air that is softly touched on so many levels. Yuzu carries the braided florals of jasmine, geranium, and rose. Minty and herbal vibes are aromatic up against the agarwood. It truly is a new composition that I would pick for an award. It has been quite the year. I didn’t expect all this creativity, but here it is, and I am celebrating it. Perfume is alive and well in the hands of the olfaction guard.
