All-natural perfume excites me. I have learned about it the most and have seen how freaking hard it is to build accords. Naturals are not as consistent and stable as synthetic perfume, but they provide so much more interaction throughout the wearing. Hiram Green is the best out there. Yeah, bring it; he’s on that level with naturals. I have smelled so many, I mean so many, you wouldn’t believe it. And his perfumes are on another planet compared to what anyone in the US is doing. It’s sad, really, and he is IFRA compliant even; that’s even crazier. So he doesn’t get to use some of the best distillations ever to knock it out of the park. It’s crazy the level he has reached with the material constraints he’s had. Already having to forego his chypre because of the heavy backhand that’s out there, he amazes with creations like this one. Let’s get into it. As Bottle Presentation $175 50ML Hiram Green 2019 50 / 50 - Must like spices and powder 4.93 with 16 votes Notes: citrus, lotus flower, amber, vanilla. The warm, smooth amber and vanilla heart remains, but suede has been replaced by lotus flower, India’s national flower. The delicate sweetness of this flower in combination with fresh citrus top notes give Voyage 2019 a lighter and more tropical feel. Fragrance Quick Story The effect of this is like silk. This oriental air covers your skin like a japanese silk garment—just barely sitting on the skin, feeling so nice against you. The air is a one-of-a-kind accord that seems familiar but is new and refreshing. A lot of stuff came out in November and December, when I least expected it. I am an absolute fan of this house, and after I saw three of my top peeps fall in love with this, the Black Friday special hit, and I knew what had to happen. I pre-bought my Christmas gift, hoping to get cash to cover it a month later. C’mon, mom and dad. This is a white floral powder oriental. Powder, spice, and all things nice; this turned out to be a perfect fragrance for the holiday. Look how much I have used in three weeks’ time. Fragrance in my opinion compared to Perfume’s Notes Soft, really good cinnamon on top with citrus (I’m guessing orange/bergamot). I am very picky about the cinnamon note, and this is a fantastic soft offering. A soft creamy cinnamon air that I can only compare to Salt and Straw’s cinnamon, in their snickerdoodle ice cream. If you have Disney +, watch The World according to Jeff Goldblum, Episode 2, the ice cream one. You will see the detail “the kid” puts into the ice cream. Hiram Green does the same thing with perfume. A toasted marshmallow comes through in the heart. All backed by a slight smell of bourbon amber. This is sitting on white oak for me. No woods mentioned in the notes list, but a white oak comes out for me. He has an incense accord that I have become very familiar with; it is in the base, but it takes a while to get there. Before the incense hits, you are treated with dusty floral powders around you, like cotton floating in the air. A lotus blends with the incense, adding to this unique perfume. Lotus and spices are the incense aromatic. I would still put this at unisex. Moving into the heart of the fragrance with a very soft transition, lotus floats in your scent bubble for hours. The base is mixed with vanilla and amber. This was a perfect holiday fragrance for me, as evidenced by the amount of juice I have used. I have had this for less than a month, and he fills his stuff to the very top. The cinnamon is the shining note. Vintage 2019 is a surprise among thousands. This stands on its own, and for the love of perfume, Hiram, be sure to bring this one back every year. I would love to experience the nuances of each year’s vintage.
