Fantastic chocolate opening. Like a high end of 93% Ecuador chocolate on your skin. Sure a candied ginger that is ingrained into the chocolate bar is there, but no bergamot shows up for me. Doesn’t have to only mentioning because it is a listed note. Little to no oud again here. Orris root is melding well with whatever house accort Christophe tried to create for Strangelove. This is my last Strangelove review for awhile and I am sure they are happy about that. But this accord needs work. My opinion this is why the fragrances aren’t shining. I am no one to challenge the accolades of the perfumer, BUT BUT BUT I want to see this happen in perfumery forget all about using synthetics to boost natural notes. That being said taking off hard core ingredients hat and looking at this as a candy bar. It works it’s actually a pretty creative fragrance. They just priced themselves out, this should easily be under 2 an ML to achieve this. OUD is faint. I actually think there is a very nice orris root that redeems this a bit and stops any overshadowing from the house accord.

  1. I have a 1.25ml sample. Beautiful notes quality. BUT not enough of the wow factor for me at the price. We are spoiled for choice as there's so much competition at this price bracket. I do smell a hint of oud but just a feather touch. I noticed a lot of models and i guess beauty influencers holding bottles of Strangelove NYC in their repost blogs. Not sure who their target market is now.
