A very fruity oriental (Like a juicy fruit meets a cup of chai tea, if it is such a thing) touch of citrus off the top. Saffron delicately latches on to every whiff. A very sweet leather if there is such a thing develops quickly and hangs around for a couple of hours. Its movie season and to play off of the movie that should of won the golden globe A Star is Born. The star I am referring to is the Royal Taif Rose. To it’s credit its always been a star but not in western culture or prefurmery. Not to this level. I swore I wasn’t going to buy another oud and rose combo, you think it is so overdone and then eastern perfume masters show you rose is not what you grew up knowing in Western fragrance. There is so much more to learn. There are so many options to pair correctly, we haven’t learned this with other ingredients but still need to learn lessons on the rose and this is one of them. Over 40% of the composition is rose in this Because of IFRA/EU standards only 4% is aloud if made in the UE Supposedly the rose petals were picked by the most delicate of hands at the perfect time of day. Another pure rose oil was used and Then cured in traditional camel leather bottles. Whatever it took to get this scent in the bottle I am sure is under appreciated compared to the mass manufacturing of synthetics pumping out into the malls and designer boutiques across the world. From Areej Le Dore: Oud oils… Cambodia, Laos and India. A touch of a very sweet Cambodian oud and highly animalic wild Laotian oud enhance the base of this composition. Two varieties of classical Indian oud, both with leathery and smoky character, reside in the heart, which is sweetened with saffron. The combination of the finest rose oils and intensely animalic oud brings to life an unparalleled olfactory experience. It may be a classic combination; yet, using ingredients of a quality that is truly fit for royalty, it is an olfactory journey on a whole different level. Musk absolute… A one of a kind, dynamic, exclusive absolute from legally harvested, wild Siberian deer musk was created in Moscow, by one of the perfume gurus, Siam benzoin… Along with a touch of a secret synthetic fixative, Russian Adam used top quality, smooth, silky rich Siam benzoin. This heady resin wraps all the notes in its dark boozy, vanillic character and mellows the steady aromatic flow of this composition, giving it long lasting power. Back to me: Huge Kudos to Russian Adam for acquiring this rose and using it in such a luxurious composition. It could of been kept private and this is one extrait that is available on Areej Le Dore’s website and is worth the asking price. The drydown you can get a sense of the awesome sandalwood used a nice buttery yumminess that is medicinal in its whiffs. Carried by musk and benzoin with Amber undertones. Very Oriental. I could picture the genie in or prince even in Aladdin wearing this one. Reminds me of being on a magic carpet ride. Thank you Russian Adam for putting your art on display and giving the world a chance to savor these ingredients.

Thanks for this, I love the fragrance. Looking forward to more of your reviews!
Thanks for feedback. Areej Le Dore is amazing.
I like your relaxed style and also, just noticed what else you have covered on your channel so far. So you have another subscriber! 🙂 Looking forward to seeing more from you, Brendan. :Y
Ashfaque thanks for following the journey good to hear from you.
Thanks for your review! Precious stuff. Just the thought of 40% rose oil with Royal Taif was enough to make me go full bottle. Great fan of this house.
Exactly.
Heavenly fragrance man..just heavenly!
Yes it is.
Hey Brendan – amazing information and description.
Some feedback – perhaps shorten the videos and concentrate the information 🙂
Thanks for feedback I am currently working on formatting reviews for this very thing. Just getting used to being on camera and getting a production flow going. Thanks for watching.
I just bought Baikal Gris and the Russian Oud and Russian Musk Attars. I cannot decide between Malik Al Taif and Koh-i-Noor. I really like rose fragrances and have around 7 already but Malik is like the epitome of a rose perfume and so dense, I love it. However, Koh-Noor is something that is very unique, at least for my collection, (I also own full bottles of Indolis, Russian Musk, Flux De Fleur, and 9ml vials of Russian Oud and Waimah). What would you suggest between the two, or what is your take on Koh-i-Noor? Thanks.
Kohi-I-Noor is awesome, that being said with the collection you have it looks like you might end up with both. Owning both I would choose the Malik Al Taif over Koh-i-Noor just because of the 40% rose in it. I have lot's of rose fragrances in my collection but this thing still stands out above them all. That's my opinion, but you can't be wrong with either one.
@Therapeutic Fragrance yep, I am thinking the same thing. Probably will end up with both, but I think Mailk will be first. Thanks for the quick reply.
Hey,
Nice review. I have the bottle of Malik al taif. It is most synthetic smelling rose ever. I am in search of the best natural rose fragrance and I finally found it. Rose by new brand Dixit and Zak fragrances is super crazy. Absolutely mind blowing. Never sniffed anything in my entire 44 year journey of natural perfume collection.
Please try It out brother.
Well hold on to that bottle you will be able to sell it for sure. The way this rose plays off the skin and heat I would definitely have to disagree it changes to much over a synthetic rose. I know I have heard a reviewer make the same assesment, but I am pretty sure he only has a sample and never admitted to even fully wearing the fragrance. Upon a full wear of synthetic rose it chokes me out, the rose scent never fluctuates as it does in Taif. They do use synthetics and on my skin Oud Luwak so far is the only one that it really bothers me in.
@Therapeutic Fragrance much appreciated. But to my nose malik Al taif is very synthetic. I am not feeling it at all. ????????
Hopefully you can sell or trade. Thanks for sharing.
@Therapeutic Fragrance yes.
Really nice review. I'm waiting on a sample of this before I take the plunge. How does this compare to something like Oud Fleur or Oud Ispahan? I didn't mind the former, but the latter was incredibly off-putting to my nose.
So definitely sample the two you mentioned are supremely well blended, but when it comes to the ingredients it's not even close. If you have those spray one are with one of those and the other with Malik al Taif and you will be able to tell the quality right away. The others are meant to be crowd pleasing with there abundance of synthetics, but Malik is a personal fragrance that I wear for myself. Must love rose and stronger scents.
The roses comes from altaif city n Saudi Arabia that's why the name is malik altaif and the malik means n English (the king) l
bader Hassan thanks for the information.
This or Baikal Gris?
This one especially if you are into rose at all, if rose is any bit of nussance to you go for the ambergris in Baikal. Totally different scents. I am dropping something here for you that I am reviewing this week. Walimah has no business being left in my opinion it is some of his best work. I easily put it in my top three for the entire house. I know it's expensive but what you get is worth more than he is putting in todays bottles, it is a true treasure. It never really got hyped and waited and waited because of how much it was to buy. Just got mine today, I own the attar in the crystal as well number 007.
Hold off on Walimah think it will be released in 30mls
Therapeutic Fragrance always wanted to try it, but a little too rich for my blood. Has that been confirmed?
Awesome review! I’ve been watching all of your videos since!
In your opinion, what is the Male / Female balance of this unisex fragrance?
Thanks Greg, As long as guys have gotten used to rose which this is packed with I put it at 50/50 all day. With the caveat must love Rose.
Really been diggin your channel lately. Got a sample of this recently after watching this. Spellbinding! Found a gem of a decant store in my city with lots of Areej, vintage fragrances (tons of Guerlain).
Thanks for reaching out. Nice these are hard to sample almost everywhere. What's the city?
Therapeutic Fragrance Atlanta. The Perfumed Court. “You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes…”
Man I didn't know they had a store that is super cool.
I just bought this as the attar version, I have high expectations!
Hindi Oud and Rose make for a perfect couple.
