Hello Cologne monster. This could be nice wasn’t expecting the boom to be put down on first spray. Sorry fellow Starbucks patrons. Sweet, classic, yet very masculine. Want more Bourbon yeah I think that is a beast note that would put the Patchouli to bed. Rose doesn’t show up right away nice lavender. The cinnamon is very well thought out as a back not with amber tones playing into it. The patchouli hasn’t even shown itself five minutes in. Getting a gourmand touch to it. I don’t mind because I keep expecting the old patchouli one note to come out and hit me anytime. Can you tell yet I am board of the same old use of patchouli I get why I and so many in mass cultural complain about it. Perfumers you need to be going to different farm sources and changing it up. This is such a beautiful oil more than the few synthetics there are. To my knowledge, please correct IFRA does not limit patchouli. So far turning to the base this is a great thought out composition. This is strong well balanced and a great unique sniff bringing in it’s own take on a perfume as it’s own. The bay oil brings out a really nice take on spice with the cinnamon. Bay oil has a clove type of smell to it. Very creamy soft drydown. Sandalwood is buttering it down. Yeah this is a unique masculine cologne perfume that I could recommend to friends who go to a professional office. It’s fresh without being soapy. It’s sweet without being too far gourmande. As soon as drydown happened gourmand definitely took over. The price into consideration this is a great bottle to have in a collection. It plays it safe and doesn’t overdue anything. Blending everything nicely. This is a very nice smell to wear. This is the patchouli for starters this drydown is very creamy and a nice vanilla. This is full on Gourmand at this point. Anyone that loves gourmands this is a must check out the patchouli is not a main player at all and just touches things behind the scene. Like a silhouette just dancing around.

  1. I personally get a lot of what i think is woody amber, i'm not sure what type but its this 'shiny' ' a bit screechy' rich resin. Did you get the same? Patchouli to me is like the secondary player but still noticeable.

    1. I see what your saying by the rich resin for sure it does tame the patchouli a bit. There is just that sharp synthetic patchouli note that I am happy to be done with for awhile that comes through. Much softer than other ones reviewed here. If I wasn't so focused on Patchouli alone I would probably over look it. Honestly it's a sharpness I could do without for a long while. This is exact patchouli I am over. I can put up with clearwood and think almost all should be reformulated with that, it's just a better synthetic alternative.

    1. Therapeutic Fragrance I have a sample and it is beautiful. I do enjoy fougeres which are more unisex… need to give it more skin time but as a guy I’d dive right in. I also have cuir Cuba intense and vie de chateau which are both beautiful.
