How? I Apply the Fragrance

3 to 5 sprays

A fresh tropical scent for your body and your environment, equally well suited to skin, hair, linens and air. Fragrance Notes: Tropical Spices, Hapu'U Tree Ferns, Rushing Water, Green Mist, Wet Jungle Moss, Monkeypod Bark, Manoa Red Clay Fragrance Quick Story Open just like pictured. Bottle presentation is exquisite. This is the second fragrance I have had that features notes from the Hapu’U tree. Fragrance in my opinion compared to Perfumes Notes Half and Half for me. The clay tropical spices, Hapu’u tree all come through with the wet jungle moss. I have hike over in Hawaii and yes this takes me there. Unfortunately the synthetic they use to carry the notes takes over and soaps up my skin. Not in a heavy projection way, but in a way that that's all I smell like for 3 - 4 hours.

  1. The soap sounds like white musk to me. Is that it?

Bottles are pretty but their notes list sound fantastical. I did avoided it as i thought it was another passing fad house but now you have me curious!

    1. gunmetal24 It’s not noticeable to me as white musk specifically, and I don’t like white musk, but it does smell a bit soapy clean. Is there anything else that could give that effect?

I tried a couple of the other scents in the range and they were not for me. The brand says this one is the more masculine out of the Oahu line, but to me it’s more feminine.

    2. A total guess but I bet Tonalide and/or ambroxan was an ingredient used in the base of the fragrance. I have been getting some education on synthetic ingredients used to make accords this is where I am at. If people like this fragrance I could probably name a few more they like and that react on me. Going through this i almost have the clear answers on what causes this and why some fragrances are so appealing and appalling to others.
